The Samsung Galaxy Note20 in detail

How many years of updates does the Samsung Galaxy Note20 get?

Released in August 2020, the Samsung Galaxy Note20 received security patches until September 2025: 5 years and 1 month in total.

Among the 258 Samsung phones in our database, 197 were supported for less time and 51 for longer. The median is 4 years and 1 month.

Across all brands, the median for phones is 4 years.

The last patch came out 1 year and 1 month ago.

Two schedules overlap here. New system versions stop in August 2023, security patches in September 2025. In between, the device stays on its last version but still gets fixes for security holes.

Can I keep using the Samsung Galaxy Note20?

Yes, it still works. But every security hole found after September 2025 stays open. For daily use with banking, messaging and passwords, a supported device is the safer choice. As a spare without your main accounts (alarm clock, music player, camera), it's still useful. Do a factory reset before you give it away or recycle it.
