The Samsung Galaxy M53 5G in detail

How many years of updates does the Samsung Galaxy M53 5G get?

Released in April 2022, the Samsung Galaxy M53 5G received security patches until June 2026: 4 years and 2 months in total.

Two schedules overlap here. New system versions stop in April 2024, security patches in June 2026. In between, the device stays on its last version but still gets fixes for security holes.

Can I keep using the Samsung Galaxy M53 5G?

Yes, it still works. But every security hole found after June 2026 stays open. For daily use with banking, messaging and passwords, a supported device is the safer choice. As a spare without your main accounts (alarm clock, music player, camera), it's still useful. Do a factory reset before you give it away or recycle it.
